| Is the Diana inquest a waste of time and money?
Why can we not just let her rest in peace. If there really was a cover up then no amount of inquiries will ever unearth the truth behind events in Paris. It is a shameful waste of time and money to continue with this useless inquiry. .
The Bureaucracy, the March, and the War
All those presidential candidates, running as small-government outsiders ready to bring Washington big spenders to heel, had, on coming to power, only fed that government mercilessly, throwing untold numbers of tax dollars at the Pentagon and the military-industrial complex, ensuring that they would become ever more bloated, powerful, and labyrinthine, ever more focused on their own well-being, and ever less civic; ensuring that the government as a whole would be ever more "bureaucratic," ever less "ept," and — always — ever more oppressive, with ever more police-state-like powers. All that had been strangled in the process — made smaller, if you will — was the federal government's ability to deliver actual services to the population that paid for it. All that was made smaller in the world beyond Washington was whatever residual faith existed that this was "your" government, that it actually represented you in any way.
All new housing ‘must be green’
A PLANNER has challenged developers to help tackle climate change following warnings that the government's massive housing programme could be an "environmental disaster". Cllr Ron Whittaker, vice-chairman of Bournemouth Borough Council's planning board, backed the calls for more stringent standards for new homes and adequate investment in the infrastructure. While the Thames Gateway, Ashford, Milton Keynes, South Midlands and the London to Stansted and Cambridge corridor will bear the brunt of new development, Bournemouth faces the prospect of 18,000 new homes. .
Prejudice's story told in movie
As a high school student, Perry Wallace routinely would walk out the door of his north Nashville home, glance at North High School and then board a bus headed across the city to another school that African-American students could attend. Growing up in Nashville in the 1960s, Wallace thought he understood bigotry and social change. Yet, when he attended Vanderbilt as the Southeastern Conference's first African-American basketball player, he wasn't prepared for the biting racial slurs hurled at him in such settings as Starkville, Miss., and many other stops around the SEC. .

It has been called the "Live Music Capitol of the World" and I've have found that to be true. But on Saturdays in the fall it's all about the Longhorns. These fans truly bleed burnt orange. One thing that I believe separates this group of fans from all others is that they are never critical of their team. Even when the team is not performing up to expectations there is always a silver lining. They proudly flash the "Hook 'em Horns" sign even after the most crushing of defeats. They are much more than "die-hard". In fact, they are "never-die" fans. I've lived in Texas for the past twenty one years have acquired many Longhorn friends along the way. They are a bit "over the top" with all of their Longhorn paraphernalia that include an array of T-shirts, caps, watches, huge belt buckels, and rear window decals that are proudly displayed on their Texas-sized pick-ups.
This Week In Schadenfreude: The Horrible Nacho Threat of Ohio
And your "fans" who show up to gameday are pimply-faced elitist douchebags who retain no social life outside of pissing off opposing fanbases like "Cal was my safety!" and "El Paso has plenty of Mexican hookers". ... I hope the next time there are wildfires in Southern California, it burns down your worthless campus, your craptastic stadium, and your bandwagoning poser ******* fans.Hey, at least it's good for traffic: Anyway, in the last hour of the game and the hour after it was over, we got hits from the following search engine queries:"nate longshore sucks""california golden blogs""longshore sucks""cal longshore sucks""nate longshore sucks""2008 cal football schedule""i hate nate longshore""nate longshore sucks""nate longshore sucks""longshore sucks!""what is wrong with nate longshore"I see a pattern developing.
Don't miss Daniel Day-Lewis in 'There Will be Blood'
I'd normally rave about the album as my weekly Critic's Playlist offering on Page 3C, but I needed a bit more space to detail an amazing back story. Elias is married to Marc Johnson, who was the bassist in Evans' last great trio. Before Evans died in 1980, he talked with Johnson about two new songs he was working on, and shared audio cassettes. Both lovely (and previously unrecorded) songs are included in this collection. One is an instrumental, "Evanesque," with all the gentle lyricism we've come to expect from the Chopin of jazz. The second is "Here's Something for You," which includes lyrics by Elias, as well as a fragment of Evans' original cassette recording of the song in progress. Meanwhile, Johnson joins his wife on all the tracks (along with simpatico drummer Joey Baron).
Female voters analyze Democratic front-runners Clinton, Obama
Edwards has thrown his support behind Dodds threatened filibuster of the new FISA bill unless telecom retroactive immunity is stripped from the bill. This should be interesting. If Edwards goes to DC to lend his support will the other candidates follow his lead in holding the telecoms responsible for the illegal wiretapping. Finally a candidate who is willing to defend the American people from illegal warrantless wiretaps! Now let's see who else steps forward. John Edwards said: In Washington today, telecom lobbyists have launched a full-court press to win retroactive immunity for their illegal eavesdropping on American citizens. Granting retroactive immunity will let corporate law-breakers off the hook and hamstring efforts to learn the truth about Bush's illegal spying program.
